Dr. Nishad Deshpande is a forward-thinking researcher and academic in the field of physical sciences and engineering materials, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Surat (IIIT Surat). He also leads institutional initiatives as Coordinator – Research & Consultation and Coordinator – Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP). With a Ph.D. in Physics from Hanyang University, Seoul, Dr. Deshpande brings a unique global perspective to applied science research. His core research explores the intersection of nanomagnetism, spintronics, magnetoplasmonics, and semiconductor thin films, while also contributing to energy conversion, storage technologies, and environmental applications. Dr. Deshpande’s work spans multifunctional materials, including CMR, GMR, and TMR materials, gas sensors, resistive switching devices, and hyperthermia-focused magnetic nanoparticles. He applies advanced analytical tools such as XAFS, PEEM, XMCD, and neutron diffraction to study structural and electronic properties at the atomic scaleWith over 40 international publications, Dr. Deshpande is a frequent contributor to high-impact journals and actively serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for multiple global scientific publications.
